Frequently Asked Questions

  • In a word, yes! I will always try to work collaboratively with you and your team and fit within your budget. Extended ‘permalance’ contracts are welcome and can obviously be negotiated separately from my standard rates. For first-time clients, I can also offer a 10% Discount.

  • When it comes to estimating a project, my first step is always to work closely with you to scope the project; identifying the specific deliverables that they're looking for and any other requirements or constraints that may impact the estimate.

I find that by working closely with your team to define their needs and goals, I’m better able to develop more accurate estimates that take into account the specific requirements of your project.

Of course, there's always a degree of flexibility that's necessary when it comes to creative work. I believe that it's important to remain agile and be open to adjusting our approach or scope as needed to ensure that we're delivering the best possible results for your clients. Ultimately, my goal is to provide your clients with high-quality creative that meets their needs and exceeds their expectations, all while staying within your budget and timeline.

  • Yes, I’m more than happy to ‘white-label’ and get in front of your clients to present the work. My only caveat is preparation, last-minute changes and working to the wire makes for a terrible presentation. I prefer to take an informal approach to help build an atmosphere of collaboration and room for open and honest discussion. I’ve found this helps get a better response from clients as they then feel as though they’ve been active participants in the creative process.

  • I get this question a lot and It’s a frustrating one at that because I develop both visual and copy lead concepts! I’ve often found copywriters have visual ideas and Art Directors can turn a phrase. That said, copy comes first in the process which is where I usually get involved. It’s a bit like a golf swing; tiny adjustments to word selection can mean ending up in the trees or on the green.

  • I’m not currently looking, but I’m always open to attractive offers. To consider moving into a full-time role I would be looking for an agency where I can make a real impact on the business and the work. Ultimately I’d be looking to have some skin in the game through an equity offer or partnership.

  • No, I don’t. As a freelance Creative Director, I tend to manage creative teams or work independently. That said if you require Copy and Art I can do both, or I’m happy to work with your creative team, and other freelancers you know or I can lean on my extended network and see who’s currently available.

  • Yes, I’m usually pretty happy to work unusual hours and holiday/weekend periods. The more notice you can give me the more likely I’ll be available and we’ll be able to work something out. I do charge a hire rate outside of usual business hours which you can find on the services page.

  • It's definitely a delicate balance! I always strive to find creative solutions that meet both the client's goals and budgetary constraints. I believe that effective project management and communication are vital to ensuring that we stay on track and deliver high-quality work within the allotted timeframe. Of course, there are always unforeseen challenges that arise but adapting to changing circumstances delivers the best results.

  • It starts with getting the right people around a table and fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity. I believe that it's important to set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to help team members grow and develop their skills. I also prioritise staying up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in the industry, so that the team are always on the cutting edge of what's possible.
